Elementary School Fundraisers: Have A Family Movie Night

Elementary School Fundraisers: Have A Family Movie Night

Elementary school fundraisers should be designed in such a way for them to be both profitable and enjoyable. Having a fun factor in your fundraising campaign or event is really important. When I say fun, this should apply for both your customers and your volunteers. In other words the fun should be two way. You need to make sure that you’re volunteers are going to have while they’re working because this is the least that you can do for them in exchange for the time and effort that they’re going to hand out to you.

One of the most fun elementary school fundraisers that is really worth giving a try would be a family movie night. Everybody loves watching movies especially when they’re viewed with your loved ones. To make this a huge success, the first thing you need to do is to do some research about the movie preferences of people in your school. In this way, you’ll know what to screen so that you can get a lot of customers during your actual event. The next step is to develop a plan. Formulate a good plan for your event and share it with your school’s principal and staff. Before you can start working on the necessary preparations for your event, you first need to make sure that what you have in mind gets approved. Inform the authorities in your school what movies you’re going to screen as well as the type of food that you’re going to offer to your customers. Moreover, you should also discuss where you’re going to show your movies; when the event’s going to happen; and your preferred time.

After your plans get approved, you can move on to setup. Schools usually have a multi-purpose room or a cafeteria. You might also have a wide screen in your auditorium. Get a good projector and hook up the sound system. Make sure that you make an estimate of the number of people that you’re going to expect to come at your fundraising event so that you can choose your venue accordingly. Arrange the seats and make sure that the setup that you have will make your guests as comfortable as possible.

Next, finalize your list of movies. Make sure that all of your films are G rated. When all of the films get lined up, you can proceed to selling movie tickets. You can sell each of your tickets at $1. Now, I’m pretty sure that your customers will be looking for good snacks to chew on while they’re enjoying your films, so be sure to prepare them a good set of treats such as nachos, hotdogs, popcorn, chips, and sodas. Selling food during your event is a great idea for you to boost your profits.

Now, that everything’s in their proper places, you need to jump into the task that will make or break your plans, advertising. Since you’re going to have an event, you need to promote it as much as you can so that a lot of people will know about it. Make your promotions interesting and catchy.
