Ideas for Fundraising: Setting Up A Fruit Fundraiser

One of the best ideas for fundraising is through fresh fruits fundraisers. This unique type of fundraising event is perfect if you want your fundraising event to last for a long time. Since people eat fruits on a daily basis, you won’t need to worry about the demand of your product. Not only are they healthy, they are also enjoyable to eat which makes them very saleable to your customers.

If you want excellent ideas for fundraising events, organizing a fruit fundraiser is a sure winner. The first step in starting one is to first decide what kind of fruits you are going to sell to your customers. It is highly recommended to sell a wide variety of fruits so that your customers will have plenty of options to choose from. Popular choices would be oranges, apples, pears and bananas. After you have selected the kind of fruits that you want to sell to your customers, the next step is setting up your sales booth. Make sure that your sales booth is situated on place where there is a high traffic of people passing by. This would make your fundraising event more visible to the public and therefore increasing your chances of making sales. If your booth is located on a remote place in your community, it would be difficult for you to sell your product. It would make your fundraising effort useless since you are selling perishable goods so make sure that you sell them immediately. You don’t want your products to rot before somebody finds out that your selling fruits. Time is of the essence in this form of fundraising event so make sure that you can dispose them to your customers as quickly as possible so you can maintain the freshness of your fruits. You can set them up in public parks, shopping malls, community centers or some place where people usually gather. Make your signboards very visible to the public so that they will know that you are selling fresh fruits. Make use of large signs and bright colors to easily identify your sales booth. Don’t just set them up anywhere, make sure that it’s legal to put up a booth in that particular area to avoid being sued of trespassing if ever you decide to put them up in a private property.

In addition to your sales booth, you can recruit volunteers to do an order taker type of fundraising campaign. This is where your sales team is going to hand out order forms for your customers so that they will know what kinds of fruits you are selling. It would be difficult and hassle on the part of your team if they are going to carry heavy fruits for them to sell. This strategy is also good since you want to make your fruits fresh as possible; bringing fruits along the way would expose them to sunlight therefore making them rot faster. Don’t risk your chances since you are maximizing your financial income.
