Fresh and Unique Fundraising Ideas

Elementary School Fundraising: Selling Scented Candles

Like most types of order taker fundraising program, scented candle fundraisers work like magic in helping you generate funds for your elementary school, charity organization or athletics team. If you want to further increase the financial income of your elementary school fundraising activity, be sure to go beyond just presenting catalogues for your customers. Show your customers different types of scented candle samples so that they can scrutinize your products and encourage them to purchase. Showing samples for your customers might feel insignificant at first but this helps in boosting your sales since most people want to see the actual product first before they buy.

Since you are selling candles for your campaign, it’s not enough that you sell those alone. This kind of product sales fundraiser requires the help of your volunteer team. Your team will be responsible in carrying the flyers, order forms, sales script, and some product samples.  They will also roam through the streets of your community to find potential customers who will be interested in your offer. After finding potential clients, your team will illustrate the products your fundraising campaign is offering including its details such as color, size, shape, scent and weight of your product set. Prices should be available in your order forms so that your customers will know how much they are going to pay.

Since the products they’re carrying are not fragile and non-perishable, they will have an easy job bringing it with them which is perfect for prolong sales efforts. It’s also recommended to have different aromas/scents of your product samples since it makes the selling process much easier for them, thus more sales. Another for this reason is that most buyers test first your samples by sniffing them one by one and see which one is perfect for their homes with their attractive and pleasant smells. Some people nowadays prefer scents such as bayberry, French vanilla, pumpkin spice, apple cinnamon, melon burst, holiday pine, and citrus breeze. The sizes of these products range from small votive candles to the large bell or ball shaped candles with multiple wicks. Decorative shapes, such as hearts, flowers, trees, animals and more, are also catching up on most fundraising companies. In addition to that, standard shaped candles are also available such as cylinders, large rectangles, half rounds, and tapers.

Some fundraising companies also offer candles that are made to be in a container, in other words, contained based candles. These types of candles are designed to burn at a slower rate thus avoiding those messy cleanup jobs after use. They are also considered safe since the wax and the wick are all contained in a container. Candles with containers include screw-top jars, jars with handles, mason jars, square glass containers and much more designs to choose from.

Also look for suppliers that offer reasonable prices and discounts for their products. This way, you can make the most of your profits. You can also ask your suppliers if there are discounts on bulk orders.
