School Fundraiser Ideas: Handling Your Donors And Volunteers

Donors and volunteers are two of the most important people in the any school fundraiser ideas that you wish to incorporate in your fundraiser. They are very important since they can provide you with the necessary things needed to run your entire fundraising project properly. You must always take time to recruit these people as soon as possible since you cannot start a fundraising campaign without these people. In this article, I am going to discuss some of their distinct similarities as well as their differences so that you will know how to handle them in your own events.

Donors provide the necessary funds that your fundraising events can use extensively. No matter what kind of school fundraiser ideas you wish to utilize, donors will be an essential part of it. You can never start a fundraising project without the financial assistance coming from your donors especially if you are starting a sales fundraiser. Selling fundraising products require you to have an initial capital to purchase your products before you can start selling them to your potential customers. Donors can provide you with that so always ensure that you have an extensive network of donors to back you up financially. The financial assistance that these people can give you will not only provide you with start-up funds for the whole fundraiser, it can help you in emergency situations such as accidents and bankruptcy. The only disadvantage of relying too much on donors is that they can lose interest in your projects very quickly. Since they are not actively participating in your fundraiser, chances are they will not see the whole purpose of your efforts. They will not feel motivated and passionate about the whole fundraising process thus they are more likely to lose interest in helping you out.

Volunteers on the other hand provide your whole fundraising operation with the necessary manpower needed to make your events function properly. It is understandable that you cannot execute everything about your fundraiser; you clearly need the help of volunteers in order to properly implement the tasks and responsibilities of your events. People who join as fundraising volunteers are most of the time very passionate and determined individuals who believes in your event’s goals and objectives. These people are also more likely to give more money that their donor counterparts since they themselves can feel that what they are doing have some purpose and use for the entire community. Make sure to recruit volunteers that can do their work with only minimal supervision so that you can concentrate and focus more on the development of your fundraising ideas. Train them extensively so that they will not ask you what to do from time to time. This will save you both time and effort in executing your respective tasks and responsibilities. The only disadvantage on relying too much on your volunteers is that you need to train and retrain them from time to time so that they will develop into a more effective fundraising member.
