Middle School Fundraising: Catalog Sales Are Lucrative

Middle School Fundraising: Catalog Sales Are Lucrative

The Christmas season is a time for giving, which is why this time of the year is considered as one of the most ideal times for middle school fundraising campaigns and other types of fundraisers. Among the different unique fundraising ideas that you can try out this coming holiday season, catalog sales would be one of the best for you to push through with. Catalog sales can include a variety of highly saleable products including holiday items, ornaments candies, holiday gifts, and wrapping paper.

If you’re going to have a middle school fundraising campaign that deals with catalog sales, the first thing that you and your team of volunteers need to decide on would be the products that you’re going to sell to the people found on your list of prospective customers. When you choose your products, you need to take a look at the profit margins that you can offer you. After this, you need to decide about which fundraising company you’re going to get your supplies from. Remember that, even though the catalogs of one company may look exactly the same as another, the percentage of profit that you can get from them may vary to a huge extent. With this fact, you need to scout for companies that will enable your group to keep a huge part of the profit from the sales that you’ll be able to generate during the time duration of your fundraising campaign.

After you decide on the kind of products that you’re going to sell out, the next thing you need to do is to look for sales volunteers who will be roaming the streets of your community to talk to customers in pursuit of sales. Orient your volunteers well so that they’ll know what to do when they face their customers. A good thing to do is to equip them with a convincing sales script that will help them encourage people to provide them the sales that you need. Your sales script should indicate the name of your group as well as the name of your school; the reason why you need to raise money; and the products that you’re offering in exchange for donations. Do some role playing for your sales script so that your sales volunteers will know how to exactly recite the lines contained in there. Let your sales volunteers practice your sales script until they feel comfortable saying it. Remind them to make eye contact and add in a smile as well as a nice greeting at the start.

Once you have this properly laid down, you can now proceed to advertising your fundraising campaign. Advertising is always necessary and this should always be done way ahead of time so that people can be made aware of your plans early. In this way, they’ll be able to help you out. Advertisements for a school fundraiser can be done in a couple of ways including banners, bulletin posts, flyers, posters, newsletters, fundraising letters, notes home, and posts on a website.
